ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT
Il Sole 24 ORE S.p.A. is committed to making its website www.gruppo24ore.ilsole24ore.com/it accessible, in accordance with Law 4 of 9 January 2004. This accessibility statement applies to the website https://www.gruppo24ore.ilsole24ore.com/it
updated on 05/06/2025
Reference technical specifications used
The assessment was carried out through an accessibility audit conducted with regard to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 and Level AA.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the requirements of Annex A of UNI EN 301549:2018 (WCAG 2.1) and the requirements of former Annex A of MD 5 July 2005 (WCAG 2.0) due to the non-compliance cases listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reason(s):
- Images: Some images may lack sufficiently descriptive alternative text (Success Criterion 1.1.1 - Non-text content), which may prevent full comprehension for users with visual impairments. Specifically, image galleries lack alternative text and descriptions for enlargement, as well as no captions.
- Multimedia content: There may be video content lacking subtitles or audio content lacking proper transcripts (Success Criterion 1.2.2 – Subtitles), making it inaudible to users with hearing disabilities.
- Text content and structure: Issues may arise concerning the organization of information and semantic relationships within text content (Success Criterion 1.3.1 – Info and Relationships), which may impair proper understanding by users using assistive technologies. Specifically, some pages lack a main title or have errors in the order of titles. Empty links and misuse of elements intended to indicate areas of the page may also be present.
- Colours and contrast: The contrast ratio between the text and the background, as well as between important graphical elements and the background, may not meet the minimum requirements (Success Criterion 1.4.3 – Contrast (Minimum)), making it difficult for users with visual impairments to read.
- Keyboard navigation and interaction: Some interactive elements of the website (such as buttons, links, or menus) may not be fully accessible or usable via keyboard alone (Success Criterion 2.1.1 - Keyboard). The navigation menu for small screens or with zoom enabled cannot be navigated by keyboard alone, lacks a visible focus indicator, and has non-descriptive labels on the open/close button. Additionally, some tab elements (tablists) are semantically mislabelled and are not operable using the keyboard.
- Forms and fields: Form fields to be filled in may not have clear labels or instructions that are linked correctly (Success Criterion 3.3.2 - Labels or Instructions), making data entry complicated for those using assistive technologies.
- PDF documents: the PDF files on the website may not have been created in an accessible manner, which means that their content may not be readable by screen readers or their structure may not be navigable (Success Criterion 1.1.1 - Non-Text Content, 1.3.1 - Information and Relationships). There is also a PDF viewer that is not fully accessible because of its structure and colour contrasts.
- Embedded content: Accessibility issues may occur for content embedded by third-party suppliers, such as internal frames (iframes), including advertising elements, over which the site owner has limited control (Success Criterion 4.1.2 - Name, Role, Value).
Il Sole 24 ORE S.p.A. is actively committed to improving the accessibility of its digital properties through continuous monitoring and implementation of targeted technical interventions. Monitoring, however, does not rule out the possible presence of additional non-compliant elements beyond those already indicated.
