The 2025 Ambrogino d'Oro Award goes to Fabio Tamburini, Editor-in-Chief of Il Sole 24 Ore
“Under his leadership, the newspaper has confirmed its status as an essential point of reference for the public, institutions, and economic operators. With the Festival dell'Economia di Trento, it offers debates of broad interest and invites young people to engage in discussion.” These are the reasons why Fabio Tamburini, Editor-in-Chief of Il Sole 24 Ore, Radio 24, and Radiocor, received the 2025 Ambrogino d'Oro award on December 7 at the Teatro dal Verme in Milan. The award is the highest honor granted by the City of Milan on its patron saint's day and is dedicated to those who have brought prestige to the city. The 2025 edition of the award presented a total of 42 awards to citizens and organizations that have distinguished themselves for their civic engagement, culture, health, and solidarity, contributing to the good of the city, out of 280 nominations.
“A keen observer of Italian and international markets and political scenarios,” reads the motivation for awarding the Editor-in-Chief of Il Sole 24 Ore, "under his leadership, the newspaper has confirmed its status as an essential point of reference for the public, institutions, and economic operators, with in-depth reports and investigations on crucial issues. Convinced that knowledge is essential for making responsible and prudent choices, especially in times of crisis and uncertainty, he chairs the scientific committee of the Festival dell'Economia di Trento, proposing debates of broad interest and inviting young people, the true lever of the future, to engage in discussion."
This is a particularly significant recognition: it comes in the year in which Italy's leading daily newspaper for economic, financial, and regulatory news celebrates its 160th anniversary and highlights the importance of the Festival dell'Economia di Trento, organized by Gruppo 24 ORE on behalf of the Autonomous Province of Trento.
Tamburini, who in 2025 also received the Crédit Agricole “Testimoni della storia 2025” Award in Trieste, the "Penna d'oro" Award in Verona and the Acqui Storia "Testimoni del Tempo" Award, has been Director of Il Sole 24 Ore, the Radiocor press agency and Radio 24 since September 12, 2018, and has been Chairman of the Scientific Committee and Advisory Board of the Trento Economics Festival since 2022.
