“From the market to new powers. The hopes of young people” is the title of the XXI edition of the Festival dell'Economia in Trento, organized for the fifth consecutive year by Gruppo 24 ORE and Trentino Marketing on behalf of the Autonomous Province of Trento, in collaboration with the Municipality and the University of Trento.

The title, as explained by Fabio Tamburini, director of Il Sole 24 Ore, in this video, contrasts on one side the rather discouraging picture of international and geopolitical scenarios, where market laws are fading as a reference point and new powers such as Big Tech and autarchies are emerging, and on the other side, the hopes of young people as a resource to invest in for a better future. In this context, it is indeed important for the West to regain the ground it has lost and will lose, and it can do so only if the strength of young people is brought to the forefront.

A novelty for the 2026 edition is its duration: the event will last five days, a natural evolution linked to the great public success of recent editions with 40,000 participants and a rich program.

The event will take place in Trento from Wednesday, May 20 to Sunday, May 24, 2026.
